Mindset Have fun! We’re going to make you look great! Relax. We like to have a fun time and we are easy to get along with. Plus, we help you with posing, so there’s no pressure on you.
Eat Be sure to eat something before your session! You will look better, be more focused, and have more energy. Feel free to bring crackers, nutrition bar etc. Stay away from chocolate or colored items/drinks.
Arrival Arrive early or on time to your appointment. Showing up late means you lose camera time, and we don’t want that. If you’re coming from out of town, give yourself plenty of time to find your way around.
Weather If it looks unpredictable or there is falling rain, it may be an issue, so we will have to reschedule. We will try to contact you first, but please call us at 402.358.5379 or 402.360.3903 if you have any doubts or concerns.
Props Bring props that help show who you are. Some popular choices are:
Boys/Girls
Clothing Bring a variety of colors and mix the level of styles. This will give us flexibility in matching your clothing to backgrounds and the surroundings. Some should be dressy, some dressy-casual, and some casual. Avoid shirts with busy patterns, logos, brand names, or anything that will detract from your face. Make sure items are ironed and ready to go. Also, be sure clothes are lint and hair free-- I cannot stress this enough. Plan on changing quickly. The faster you change, the more time we have to photograph and the more photo choices you’ll have later.
Girls, if you’re comfortable in dresses, bring them! They photograph really well and offer a nice variety from your other casual clothing choices. Keep in mind, if you’re self-conscious about your arms, avoid sleeveless or cap-sleeve shirts and tank tops, as they tend to make arms look fuller.
Boys, khakis, jeans, shorts, casual or sports wear work great for photos.
Fee free to send us pictures of outfit choices before your session so we can help you.
Shoes Girls, we cannot say it loudly enough. Wear heels! Whether pumps or boots, dressy or casual, plain or sassy, heels really make you stand out and look glamorous.
Flats can also work well if you mix them with the right outfit.
Boys, nice dress or casual shoes work well.
Hair Hair style is ultimately your responsibility. Any hair changes during the session should be quick and simple. However, we prefer that you come hair-ready. Bring hair spray, clips, pins, comb etc. to keep your hair out of your eyes if it’s windy.
Finger & Toenails Girls, if you paint your nails, make sure they’re done well for your session. Chipped nail paint will show and distract from you. Avoid bright colors that will distract from you and may not work with all your outfits. Instead, go for basic or natural tones.
Boys, make sure any grease or dirt is cleaned out from nails.
Glasses Most lenses have a glare. We will ask you to remove them for photoshoots or there will be an extra charge to photoshop glass glare if there is any.
Braces If desired, we can remove braces in Photoshop for an extra charge. Otherwise, try not to worry about them. Give a natural smile and enjoy yourself. A good smile with braces is far better than the awkward smile that comes when you try to hide them :)
Girls
Makeup You want to achieve a natural even skin tone. Be sure to cover blemishes. Please, NO glittery/shimmery eye-shadow-- it leaves white spots on your skin in photos. Make sure eyebrows are groomed, teeth are clean, and lips are not dry (bring lip balm/moisturizer if needed). Even if you don’t wear makeup or very little, take the time to do it well and your photos will look their best.
PLEASE COMPLETE THE QUESTIONNAIRE BEFORE YOUR SESSION.....THANK YOU! >>>>>>> SENIOR QUESTIONNAIRE
Jewelry Keep it simple. Big, shiny jewelry can be a distraction from your face. The proper jewelry can really complement your outfit, so it’s nice to have options so you have a variety to choose from. Don’t worry, we will give our opinion what looks best! :)
Tanning Tan lines are a distraction and take away from your photos. We suggest you use a tanning bed and varied swimsuit tops to minimize any existing tan lines. If you choose to tan outside or in a tanning bed, don’t overdo it. We don’t want you looking orange and leathery.
